Governor Fallin outlines her proposal to cut your income taxes
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin outlined her goals and highlighting parts of her budget she's sending to lawmakers.
The biggest topic was taxes.
“Today I’m asking our lawmakers to join me in an ambitious and exciting undertaking: the passage of a bold tax reform plan that will represent the most significant tax cut in state history. The Oklahoma Tax Reduction and Simplification Act will immediately cut income taxes for Oklahomans in all tax brackets, simplify the tax code, and chart a course towards the gradual elimination of the income tax,” said Governor Mary Fallin.

She called it a game-changer for the state and said it would create jobs.
“It will give Oklahoma the lowest income tax rate in the region besides Texas, making us a more competitive state for those looking to move jobs here. Over time, our income tax would be phased out for every Oklahoman,” continued Fallin during her address to lawmakers.
