Sunderland students get taste of strategy
20.05.12
A FIVE-DAY intensive programme in innovation for business strategy is being offered to postgraduate students from the University of Sunderland Business School this year.
The business school has teamed up with Newcastle business consultancy blackswan, which has customers in 40 countries, and will allow students to analyse the strategy of one of the firm’s major international clients.
The students will work with chief executive Maurice Duffy and senior management consultants to use blackswan expertise to assess the way the company works and recommend some changes to help it improve.
They will then compare traditional analytical techniques with an analysis made by blackswan’s own methods and present their findings to the company. They will work using workshops, seminars, teleconferencing, reports and presentations.
The programme will form part of the innovation module for the MBA and MSc Human Resource Management students. Students work towards a professional development enhancement certificate.
