*This is a personal and a real cold call appeal that I am using here as a sample of a simple way to send an appeal when the recipients are primarily complete strangers to you and your cause.

Very few of you have been aware that for the last six years I have been successfully running this business while living with Multiple Sclerosis. I am also a single mom to 13-year-old high-functioning autistic twin boys and an activist for a variety of causes in many communities across the world. I've given countless hours in Pro Bono work to start-ups and existing nonprofit organizations during times of their duress.  Today I would like to focus on not myself but rather my twin sons, Tristan and Quinn - identical to the eye, yet oh so very different souls. Quinn is sweet and sensitive and spends his time helping elders and people with severe disabilities. Tristan is much more outgoing and volunteers at our local visitors' center and works odd jobs for the entire neighborhood for whatever they are able to pay.  Even if they are unable to pay, he still helps, as he lives the motto "pay it forward".

Quinn & Tristan have had to grow up entirely too fast and have witnessed not only the daily pain and slow decline in my health but also a few emergency situations in which they had to help the EMT hold the bag while the EMT put an IV into me.

Tristan & Quinn also have to do much more than a normal pre-teen's share of work around the house to keep things functioning while I work or when the MS causes extreme pain and disability which prevents me from getting dinner on the table or the laundry done. They just step in and do what is required with seldom having to be asked.

Quinn & Tristan rarely ask for anything special for themselves save the occasional game for their PC, but they both recently broke my heart when they asked if they could have some fun time away from home. Of course I understood, and we found a summer camp that provides each young person with "The Best Week of Your Life"!

Please help me send Tristan & Quinn to camp this summer by purchasing or renewing a subscription to a magazine you enjoy reading. Just click the link and visit the online store for the Young Life Magazine Fundraiser. Then, don't forget to email the fund drive manager Mary Hagle at hagle45@gmail.com to credit your purchase to Quinn & Tristan's account.  You can also send the twins a check made out to either Quinn Birgen or Tristan Birgen at P.O. Box 428, Seaviw, WA, 98644 and the money will be directly applied towards the cost of this expensive, yet life changing, camp experience. For your generosity we will send you photos of the experience and a very special hand-made, by the twins, thank you note.

Thank you deeply for your support.

~Patricia, Tristan, and Quinn
